GenerationsE and KMU Hospital Sign MOU on Fighting Colorectal Cancer with AI Technologies


Dr. Ming-Feng Hou, Superintendent at KMU Hospital and Jean SU, CEO of GenerationsE Software Solutions, Inc. signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on co-developing AI-based pathology and endoscopy diagnostic assistance solutions for fighting colorectal cancer.


Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital (KMU Hospital) was established in Kaohsiung, Taiwan since 1957 with over 1700 beds serving residents in the city. They have over 520 registered physicians working in the hospital. Dr. Jaw-Yuan Wang, Vice superintendent at KMU Hospital is a renowned gastrointestinal (GI) surgeon and devoted to developing precision medicine for GI tumor patients. He agrees with GenerationsE vision on empowering medical doctors with AI technologies so that AI becomes the best tool to help humans fighting diseases together. Dr. Wang's team and GenerationsE data research team have started the collaboration on colonoscopy image analysis and initial result reaches 95% accuracy with 500 records.

GenerationsE partnered with BC Cancer on cancer biopsy slide image analysis since November 2017. We released DeepScene 1.0, a pathologist diagnostic assistance solution on automating colorectal cancer biopsy slide analysis in March 2019. The Department of Pathology at KMU Hospital will participate in DeepScene clinical study retrospective in May 2019. We look forwards to having our leading AI technology solutions to top medical centres like KMU Hospital in Asia.
